Ali Snow



Daughter of Mark and Blanca Snow, Ali Snow is a Spanish-American pianist from Bountiful, Utah. She is a Senior studying Piano Performance and is a Presidential Scholar at Utah State University. She is also an active member of the Honors and Service-Learning Scholars programs. Ali began playing the piano when she was 7 and currently studies with Dennis Hirst. She has also studied with M˚ Roberto Plano, Frank Chiou, Lenora Brown, and LeAnna Willmore.

Ali is a sought-after accompanist and has collaborated with top students at USU at numerous Junior and Senior recitals, Juries, Concerto Competition auditions, and department recitals. In Spring 2012 she appeared at a masterclass with the pianists of the American Piano Duo, Jeffrey Shumway and Del Parkinson. This year Ali has particularly enjoyed the terrifying, yet exhilarating position of working as the Voice Recital Hour and Voice Masterclass accompanist for the Vocal Department.

Ali has played regularly at the LDS Conference Center and Joseph Smith Memorial Buildings in Salt Lake City and has played at a wide variety of events including weddings, at restaurants, and for corporate events.

She currently teaches piano and music theory privately as a Gold-level teacher through the USU Youth Conservatory and USU Music Department. She has also taught MUSC 1170, 1180 and Accelerated Keyboard Harmony courses for music majors.

Ali has received numerous awards through the USU Music Department including the “Piano Leadership award”, “Outstanding Classroom Pianist award”, “Youth Conservatory Teacher of the Year” and “Outstanding Music Theory Student award”. She has also received the prestigious “A” Pin award 3 years in a row for distinguished academic excellence.

From September 2012 to June 2013 Ali participated in and graduated from the prestigious Piano Performance “Accademia Musicale Varesina”, which is located in Travedona-Monate, Italy. While living in Milan, she had the opportunity to study with world renowned concert pianist Roberto Plano and received a Performance Diploma upon completion.

In August 2013, Ali created the service organization “Musicians for Healing” which provides student musicians at USU the opportunity to share their art in the service of others at Logan Regional Hospital.

While not pursuing her musical passions, Ali enjoys long distance running, writing about her travels around the world, and eating Café Rio pork salads with her friends.
